Dr Shaun Wilson of RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia has just announced the launch of a new digital humanities e-journal: THE OFFICIAL: International journal of contemporary humanities. THE OFFICIAL has issued a call for its inaugural issue, which is reproduced below. Deadline for abstract submissions is August 30, 2016. Full drafts or accepted articles are required by October 1, 2016. Below is the full CFA.


Scholars, film makers, philosophers, artists, curators, historians and other thinkers are invited to submit a paper for the inaugural edition of the blind peer reviewed e-journal THE OFFICIAL: International journal of contemporary humanities which will be published on 10th November, 2016.

Papers are invited to address current issues in, yet not restricted to, critical theory, digital media, games and animation, cinema and television, cultural studies, online and mobile technologies, social media, practise based research, media and communication, and fine arts.

Please send abstracts of 150 words in Times New Roman, 11 point, Harvard, UK spelling, as a Google Doc. to shaun.wilson  (at)  rmit.edu.au no later than August 30th, 2016.

Successful authors will need to submit their final papers of up to 6000 words no later than October 1st, 2016 and be available to complete suggested corrections from the editors on a short turn around.

The journal will be an online, biannual publication dedicated to emerging and cutting edge critical thought.
